An Influential Culture Not To Be Forgotten

With the population of China and Japan growing quicker and quicker, it is possible that in 2014 the oriental look could affect both of my predicted trends.

Christian Dior Autumn/Winter 2009

As a result of the population of China being the biggest in the world, it is inevitable that the oriental look may find its way into both of the trends.
Half of the population of China will be living a basic way of life, and the other half will be career-obsessed and extremely rich.

Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2011

The looks in the image above show how I would imagine the oriental look to influence my Tribal trend, incorporating Vietnamese-style hats as well as loose fitting tunic dresses, tied with an obi.

Marc Jacobs 2011

Carolina Herrera 2011

The looks in the three images above strike me as being how the oriental look could influence my City Slickers trend. Without changing the colour scheme, the shape and cut of the clothes could be made to look slightly oriental, with high necks and fitted bodies.
