The first trend that springs to mind when thinking of back to basics and tribal wear in fashion is the Aztec design and print. It became a common sight amongst high street stores over winter, after being shown in many designer collections of Autumn/Winter 2011.
Often in knitwear pieces, the patterns are bold and geometric - patterns which have been inspired by Native American and South American textiles and blankets.

This trend could have an impact on my predicted tribal trend as it could mix in with the African and Asian tribal designs, as I predict that if half of the population does go back to basics, that different trends and prints like this will merge together over different countries and continents.
